6. COOKIES AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES

Orizon Analytics employs cookies and similar technologies to ensure the secure and efficient operation of our Platform and to gain insights into how our users interact with its features. We are committed to transparency in our use of these tools

6.1. Types of Cookies Used

We utilize strictly necessary cookies, which are essential for core Platform functionalities such as secure login, session management, and navigation. These cookies do not collect personal data for marketing purposes or track browsing activity across other websites.
Additionally, we use analytics cookies to gather information about user interactions, including visited pages, time spent on the Platform, and feature engagement. This data is aggregated and anonymized, allowing us to understand user behavior, enhance the Platform’s design and functionality, and inform our product development priorities. The insights gained from analytics cookies are solely used to improve the user experience and are not employed for marketing or advertising.

6.2. No Advertising or Behavioral Tracking

We are committed to providing a focused, privacy-respecting experience free from ad-targeting technologies.

6.3. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

By using our Platform, you consent to the use of both strictly necessary and analytics cookies as described herein. You have the ability to manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Modern browsers allow you to view cookies stored on your device, delete existing cookies, block new cookies, and set preferences for specific websites.
Please note that disabling strictly necessary cookies may impair the Platform’s functionality and prevent you from accessing certain features.
We are committed to complying with all applicable privacy regulations, including GDPR and CCPA, regarding the use of cookies and user consent.

7. HOW WE STORE AND PROTECT YOUR DATA

Orizon Analytics takes the privacy and security of your data seriously. We use industry-standard technologies and best practices to ensure that your personal and portfolio information is stored securely, accessed only by authorized parties, and protected against loss, misuse, or unauthorized disclosure.

7.1. Use of AWS Infrastructure (Cognito, S3, PostgreSQL)

Our platform is built entirely on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure, utilizing secure and scalable cloud-based services, including AWS Cognito, which is used for identity management, providing secure authentication and user session control. Amazon S3 stores user-uploaded content, such as optional profile pictures, in private buckets accessible only to the respective user. PostgreSQL (hosted in a serverless environment) securely stores structured user and portfolio data. AWS services are highly reliable and compliant with significant security and privacy certifications (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR-ready hosting).

7.2. Encryption in Transit and at Rest

All user data is protected using strong encryption. Data in transit is secured through HTTPS (TLS) to prevent interception between your device and our servers, and data at rest, including database records and file storage, is encrypted using AES-256 or equivalent industry-standard encryption protocols.

7.3. Secure Token-Based Authentication

We use token-based authentication, managed by AWS Cognito, to verify users and control access to the Platform’s APIs and features. These tokens are securely issued upon login, expire after a set duration, and are invalidated immediately upon logout or session expiration. This ensures that modern security standards protect access to sensitive features.

7.4. Access Controls and User Isolation

Our system is designed with strict access controls and user-level data isolation, ensuring that each user’s data is logically separated and accessible only through their authenticated session, internal access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel based on role-based permissions, and all access logs and activity are monitored for anomalies and potential threats, in accordance with the principle of least privilege to minimize unnecessary internal data exposure.

7.5. Data Retention and Deletion Policies

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services to you, comply with legal obligations, enforce our Terms of Service, and resolve disputes. If you choose to delete your account, your data will be permanently removed from our production systems within a reasonable period, subject to any legal or regulatory retention requirements. You may also request the deletion of your data by contacting our support team.

8. YOUR DATA RIGHTS AND CHOICES

We believe in giving you control over your personal information. Depending on your location and applicable privacy laws, you may have the following rights regarding your data and how it is used. We are committed to honoring these rights in a transparent and user-centric manner.

8.1. Access, Correction, and Deletion

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request corrections to inaccurate or incomplete information, and request deletion of your data, subject to legal or contractual obligations. You can view and update most of your account information directly within your settings. For additional requests, please get in touch with us using the details provided in the “Contact Information” section of this Privacy Policy.

8.2. Right to Withdraw Consent

We rely on your consent to process personal data (e.g., optional features like brokerage sync or feedback tools), and you can withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal, but it may limit your access to certain features. You may update your preferences in your account settings or contact support for assistance.

8.3. Data Portability

Where applicable, you may request a copy of your data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format (e.g., CSV or JSON). We will provide this data to you within a reasonable timeframe and, where technically feasible, may transfer it directly to another service upon your request. This right applies only to data that you have provided to us and that we process based on your consent or for the performance of a contract.

8.4. Account Deletion Request

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Deleting your account will permanently remove access to the Platform, delete all associated personal and portfolio data from our production systems (subject to backup retention schedules and legal obligations), and cancel any active subscriptions. If you require assistance with account deletion or have concerns about residual data, please get in touch with us at support@orizonanalytics.io.

8.5. Opting Out of Optional Features

Certain features of the Platform, such as brokerage account integrations, submitting feedback through Featurebase, and participating in beta testing or surveys, are optional. Users who do not wish to use these features can simply choose not to engage with them; no action is required. Your core access to portfolio analytics and other essential services will remain unaffected regardless of whether you use these optional features.

9. INTERNATIONAL USERS & PRIVACY LAW COMPLIANCE

Orizon Analytics is committed to protecting user privacy in accordance with global data protection laws. If you access the Platform from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where our infrastructure or service providers are located. We comply with applicable legal frameworks for international data transfers and strive to meet the privacy expectations of users around the world.

9.1. GDPR Compliance (EU Users)

If you are located in the European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) grants you specific rights regarding your data. These include the rights to access and correct your data, request erasure (“right to be forgotten”), restrict or object to data processing, withdraw consent at any time, and request data portability.
We rely on one or more of the following legal bases for processing your data under GDPR: your consent (for example, when enabling optional features or communications), contractual necessity (to provide and maintain access to the Platform’s services), legitimate interests (such as improving performance or detecting abuse), and legal obligations (including compliance with applicable regulations). For GDPR-related requests, you may contact us at privacy@orizonanalytics.io.

9.2. CCPA Compliance (California Residents)

If you are a resident of California, you are entitled to certain rights regarding your personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). These laws grant you transparency and control over data collection, use, and sharing.
As a California resident, your rights include:

  • The Right to Know: You have the right to request information about the categories of personal information we collect, the sources from which we collect it, the business or commercial purposes for collecting or sharing it, and the categories of third parties with whom we may share that information.
  • The Right to Access and Delete: You may request a copy of the specific personal information we hold about you and, subject to certain legal exceptions, request that we delete that information from our systems.
  • The Right to Opt-Out of the Sale or Sharing of Personal Information: While we do not sell or share your personal information for advertising or marketing purposes, you have the right to opt out of any such activity should our practices change. We will notify users in advance and provide an opt-out mechanism if this ever becomes relevant.
  • The Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights. This means we will not deny you services, charge you different prices, or provide you with lower quality service simply because you exercised your privacy rights.

9.3. Exercising Your Rights and Response Time

To exercise any of your rights under the CCPA or CPRA, please email us at privacy@orizonanalytics.io. To protect the security of your data, we may need to verify your identity before processing your request. Verification may include confirming account-related information or requesting additional details.

We will respond to all verified requests within the timeframes required by California law, typically within 45 days of receiving the request. If we require additional time, we will notify you in writing of the reason and the extension period.

9.4. International Data Transfers and Safeguards

If you are located outside the United States, please be aware that the personal information you provide to Orizon Analytics may be transferred to, processed, and stored in the United States or other countries where we or our third-party service providers operate. These countries may not provide the same level of data protection as your home jurisdiction, particularly if you reside in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or other regions with comprehensive data protection laws.
To ensure that your data remains protected during such cross-border transfers, we implement appropriate safeguards in accordance with applicable data privacy regulations, including:

  • Hosting on secure, industry-compliant platforms: All user data is stored using cloud infrastructure provided by Amazon Web Services (AWS), which offers GDPR-ready hosting solutions, advanced security controls, encryption, and compliance with international standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and CSA STAR.
  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs): Where required by law, particularly for data transfers from the EEA, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (approved by the European Commission or UK regulators) to ensure that your data receives an adequate level of protection.
  • Data Protection Agreements with Third Parties: We require all third-party service providers that process personal information on our behalf to enter into data processing agreements or equivalent contracts that require them to handle your information in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable privacy laws.

By using the Orizon Analytics Platform and submitting your data, you expressly consent to transferring, storing, and processing your data in the United States and other jurisdictions where our systems, support teams, or partners are located. We will continue to monitor and update our international data transfer practices to comply with evolving global regulations.

10. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

  • Orizon Analytics protects children’s privacy and complies with COPPA and related child data protection laws. The Platform is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Orizon Analytics is designed for users who are 18 years of age or older.
